Trinity Springs’ memory care neighborhood isn’t just a place to live, it’s a place filled with opportunities for meaningful engagement.
Jasmine, an activities assistant, observed a limited amount of activities geared toward men. She started thinking of opportunities based on men’s interests that would be dignifying and support a sense of purpose.
“While many activities are enjoyed by everyone, I noticed there were fewer opportunities specifically designed around the interests of our male residents,” Jasmine says. “At Cassia, we strive to uphold the dignity of each resident and promote fulfillment, and I wanted to create something that would help the men feel proud, engaged and connected.”
Inspiration Behind “Bullseye Brothers”
Jasmine’s brainstorming turned into a “Bullseye Brothers” event, featuring target-style games like magnetic darts, shooting targets with soft darts and tossing Velcro axes. These activities were designed to be simple, innocuous and engaging, while giving the men the satisfying feeling of aiming for and hitting a bullseye—an example of purposeful activities in memory care that spark confidence and fun.
And Jasmine knew the perfect place to host such an event.
“Our memory care neighborhood also has a wonderful garage space that naturally feels like a man cave, so it felt like the perfect place to bring the guys together,” Jasmine says. “It created a relaxed space where the guys could laugh, cheer each other on and enjoy being together.”
A Real Hit: Confidence and Camaraderie
Smiles lit up the room and cheers resounded throughout the garage during the event. Every bullseye brought about another congratulation and a boost of confidence for each man.
“The biggest highlight was the excitement and sense of accomplishment when someone hit the bullseye,” Jasmine says. “You could see the joy and pride on their faces each time they landed a good shot. The friendly competition and encouragement from one another made the experience even more impactful.”
Most importantly, everyone had fun, strengthening camaraderie in a relaxed, engaging environment—exactly the kind of environment engaging memory care programs aim to foster.
Purposeful activities like these support cognitive stimulation, emotional well‑being and overall quality of life—key components families look for in exceptional memory care.

A Resident Volunteer Makes a Difference
Memory care residents weren’t the only ones who got in on the fun. David, a resident from the Trinity Springs senior community, volunteered to assist with the activity.
“David comes in to sit and talk with our male residents regularly and so he was the perfect person to volunteer,” Jasmine says.
She believes this kind of volunteering is a win-win for everyone.
“Having residents participate in this way helps strengthen community and it gives everyone an opportunity to contribute, which is something our residents really value,” she says.
The Impact on Residents
Everyone who participated had a great time.
“The event was received very positively by the men,” Jasmine says. “They were engaged, excited, and eager to participate. It was wonderful to see the camaraderie develop as they encouraged one another and celebrated each other’s bullseyes.”
Activities like this aren’t just something to do—they’re a way to foster fullness of life in a meaningful way. Purposeful engagement supports emotional well‑being and confidence, which are key elements of quality memory care activities.
“Activities like this honor our residents’ interests and individuality, which is so important in memory care,” Jasmine says. “When we take the time to recognize who our residents are, what they enjoy and what brings them a sense of pride, we create experiences that help them feel valued and capable.”
Why These Moments Matter
Jasmine says events like this embody the importance of life enrichment at Trinity Springs.
“Moments like these are exactly why we do what we do in life enrichment,” she says. “Seeing the joy, pride and excitement on our residents’ faces reminds us how meaningful these experiences are and how much they contribute to a sense of purpose, connection and joy-filled lives while being cared for in our community.”
